    OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
    Trae Heeter, Butler

    Senior | Running Back | Indianapolis, Ind.
    Heeter’s 222-yard rushing performance was the best by a PFL running back in 2013 and helped lead Butler to a come-from-behind 45-27 PFL victory at Jacksonville, Saturday. After a quiet first half, Heeter exploded for 178 yards and two touchdowns in the second half. In the fourth quarter alone, he had 13 carries for 138 yards, including runs of 46 and 52 yards as well as two touchdowns that cemented Butler’s first-ever win at Milne Field. Heeter had a 21-yard rush to help set up Butler’s third-quarter opening score. All told, he carried the ball 34 times and averaged 6.5 yards per carry.

    DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

    Avant’s 35-yard interception return for a touchdown found its way into ESPN SportsCenter’s Top 10 plays and helped Mercer win a 31-17 PFL victory against Drake, Saturday. He had a busy day outside of the interception, recording 11 tackles (seven solo), including an assist on a tackle for loss. However, it was Avant’s second-quarter interception that stole the show and put Mercer up 17-0. It was the third of seven turnovers gained by the Bears defense.

    SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

    Lynch had an impressive all-around kicking performance in Jacksonville’s 45-27 PFL loss to Butler. Handling all of the Dolphins’ kicking duties, he scored nine points on two field goals and three extra points, had six punts that averaged 43.7 yards per punt and tacked on two kickoffs that averaged 61.5 yards per kick. Lynch  had two punts inside-the 20, including a school-record 75-yard bomb that was downed at the Butler five-yard line. Lynch’s two field goals were from 43 and 38 yards and helped Jacksonville build a 13-7 halftime lead, he would miss a 53-yard attempt in the second quarter.
